Goodbye Mr. Jobs!

By Jamila Maloo

The London Apple rumor mill is in overdrive at the moment with talk of a new
iPhone (or maybe two!) to be announced next week at one of Apple's 'media
events'.  Along with that will come the launch of iOS 5, which we
developers have had in preview for a number of months. However, it is also
rumored that several new features of iOS 5 will be revealed, including the
integration of voice recognition technology from Nuance. In essence, you
will be able to ask your new iPhone 5 - and we guess iPad 2 - to write
emails, book cinema tickets, look up opening times, and all sorts of other
useful stuff. In anticipation of this, our app of the week this week is
Nuance's Dragon Dictation - a  free iPhone and iPad version of
their voice recognition program for Mac and PC.

If you've tried voice recognition programs in the past and know that they
can be very hit and miss, you should really give Dragon Dictation a go.
We've found it to be really very accurate, and if it is at all a taste of
things to come in iOS 5, we're pretty excited.
